With a
focused commitment to deepening the WCA's impact on the clients we serve, we
have woven financial stability strategies throughout all three of our core
programs: Bridges to
Opportunity program, Domestic
Violence/Sexual Assault services, and our Careers program.
For those
looking to break the cycle of multigenerational poverty, our Bridges to
Opportunity program helps families find permanent solutions to their challenges
by overcoming their barriers and attaining the skills needed for stable
employment. For 2012, we will be
expanding our services to include entrepreneurship as an alternative to
employment.
For families
escaping domestic violence, we provide comprehensive services that include
restoring physical safety, legal services, and brief crisis counseling. New in 2012, we now offer education and
employment support so survivors can gain economic independence and take
control of their lives.
Through our
Careers program, we address the needs of our clients in various stages of
professional development who are looking to reshape their lives following job
loss, divorce, or any life change. In
2012, we will be expanding our career and job training center with financial
literacy classes, computer basics, as well as personal development workshops.
In addition, we will also be launching the first employment and placement
service in Omaha dedicated to the needs of the broad spectrum of women.
In 2011, we
reached new financial heights. Last year, half of our $2.4M revenues came
directly from individual supporters, local foundations, and major donors. Our
agency's strength and our record-breaking year is a true testament to the
vision we crafted in 2009 of transforming our agency into one that enables
women and families from all walks of life to reach their fullest potential.
Thank you for continuing on this journey with us.
